We are excited to introduce PRIMUS Firmware V1.57, bringing extraction control, precision tuning, and an upgraded Over-The-Air (OTA) update system straight to your machine.

This update focuses on expanding your extraction toolkit, giving you control over pressure and flow variables while simplifying how your machine receives future firmware updates.

Important System Warnings - Please read before updating

CRITICAL REGIONAL COMPATIBILITY WARNING

This firmware update is strictly region-specific. Before downloading or starting the update, you must verify your machine's regional designation by checking the silver rating label on the chassis / packaging:

• Hong Kong Edition: Must use the HK update package — compatible with model KD-360X(BK/SL/WH)HK.
• European Union Edition: Must use the EU update package — compatible only with model KD-360X(BK/SL)EU
• Australian and Swiss Edition: Please read this announcement.

Regional Distribution Guide (Where these machines are typically found):

·         HK Version: Distributed primarily in Hong Kong, the UK, the Middle East, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia.

·         EU Version: Distributed primarily in Europe and Thailand.

Crucial Package Restrictions:

Select the correct file for your region. We do not recommend cross-flashing or attempting to switch between the HK and EU packages. Installing the incorrect firmware file can cause immediate software conflicts, interface errors, or functional abnormalities.

CRITICAL WARNING: FIRMWARE DOWNGRADE RESTRICTION

Never downgrade the machine's firmware to an older version. Installing a previous firmware version may cause system instability, functional abnormalities, or permanent machine malfunction.

Key Features & Enhancements

1. Volume Control in Fixed Pressure Mode

Achieve perfect extraction consistency with the touch of a button. This feature allows you to set a fixed pressure limit while maintaining automated volumetric cut-offs. Once your target volume is reached, the machine automatically stops the shot, ensuring repeatable recipes every time.

2. Real-Time Manual Flow Control

Unlock total profiling freedom. You can now adjust water flow dynamically in real time during extraction. This allows you to respond to the shot as it develops—tapering flow to prevent channelling or extending pre-infusion on the fly.

3. New Over-The-Air (OTA) Update Function

Staying up to date is now effortless. We have added a dedicated Update Software feature directly inside the machine’s Settings menu. Once V1.57 is installed, future updates will no longer require developer mode or manual file download—simply navigate to Settings to check for the latest available firmware and update your machine with a single touch.

Bug Fixes & Performance Improvements

• Resolved Heating Issues: Fixed intermittent heating bugs found in initial software versions to ensure more reliable, stable thermal performance and temperature accuracy during back-to-back extractions.
• General System Stability: Patched minor software glitches to improve overall screen responsiveness and system reliability.

 

Installation Safety Note: Do not turn off your machine, attempt to brew, or disconnect the power source at any point during the file upload and installation process.

The Updater only needs to be downloaded once. For users who are currently on V1.1.49 or earlier should download the Updater. Users who have already downloaded the Updater and are receiving OTA updates on their machines are not required to redownload this.
